WSFHS has no inscriptions for St John the Evangelist Farncombe.

The parish was created from part of the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Godalming St Peter and St Paul in 1849. There was also a Baptist Chapel, a Gospel Hall, and a Wesleyan Chapel in Farncombe; and a Quaker Burial Ground at Binscombe. There is an evangelical church in Binscombe

WSFHS CD30(Ancient Parishes in the Guildford district) has baptismal records for Godalming St Peter and St Paul for 1582-1840, Marriages for 1583-1837 and Burials for 1583-1840.

The church is in the Anglican Diocese of Guildford. The Guildford Diocesan Record Office, where you should find any surviving registers for this parish, is the Surrey History Centre.


Farncombe is a locality in Godalming which is a (civil) parisha Civil Parish is the bottom most tier of local government in England Sometimes called Town Councils in urban areas
