WSFHS has just over 220 entries in the Surrey Monumental Inscriptions Index for the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions Hambledon. The inscriptions were collected in 1978 by Gabrielle Mabley.

St Peter's church is in the United Beneficean united benefice is a union of two or more Church of England parishes which remain distinct legal entities but share an Incumbant of Busbridge and Hambledon.

[NB Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have different systems of local government]
of Hambledon in the Waverley District of Surrey.
