The new ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England of Camberwell Christ Church was created from the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Camberwell St. Giles in 1838. A further ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England , Camberwell St. Bartholomew, was created from Camberwell Christ Church in 1888.

The original church was built ca. 1840 and demolished ca. 1868. The replacement church was built on the opposite side of the road. The church is called Christ Church Peckham although its legal name is Christ Church Camberwell


WSFHS has around 1800 names for the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Camberwell St Giles in the Surrey Monumental Inscriptions Index; they come from a number of different sources. The dates range from the early 1700s to the late 1890s

The church is in the Church of England Diocese of Southwark. The Southwark Diocesan Record Office, where you should find any surviving parish registers for this church, is the London Metropolitan Archives.
