The new ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. Both of these were themselves created from the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Camberwell St. Giles

The present church was built ca. 1953 to replace the former church which was destroyed during World War 2.


Nether the present church nor the former church seem to have had a graveyard, however the Surrey Monumental Inscriptions Index has around 1800 names for Camberwell St. Giles. They come from a number of different sources. The dates range from the early 1700s to the late 1890s

West Surrey Family History Society CD15 (Surrey Baptisms Not in the IGI) has baptismal records for Camberwell St. Giles from 1750 to 1802.

The church is in the Church of England Diocese of Southwark. The Southwark Diocesan Record Office, where you should find any surviving parish registers for this church, is the London Metropolitan Archives.
