St Marks is a converted school building that was originally built ca. 1849 as a church school. The building continued in use as a school until ca. 1924 when it became known as "The Mission".The building was renamed "St. Mark's" ca. 1970.
It is part of the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of St. Peter's Woking. Sutton Green All Souls is also a Chapel of EaseA daughter church within an ecclesiastical Parish, or a chapel in an outlying area of the parish that is more convenient for parishioners to attend to St. Peter's There is no graveyard at St. Mark's. However the Surrey Monumental Inscriptions Index has some 423 names listed for Woking St. Peter, including war graves, they date from the late 1700s to the 1950s. The inscriptions from the detached graveyard have not been collected.
