It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England of Dulwich Common St. Peter in 1884. There is no graveyard at St. Stephen's. Older burials may have taken place at the former parish church - St. Giles. West Surrey Family History Society has around 1800 names for Camberwell St. Giles in the Surrey Monumental Inscriptions Index; they come from a number of different sources. The dates range from the early 1700s to the late 1890s
