The site was acquired around 1908. The wooden church previously on the site was badly damaged during the 1987 hurricane, the foundation stone of the new church was laid the following year. The church was originally served from St. Boniface Tooting. It seems to have become a separate ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. in the 1990s.
There is no graveyard at the church.
