St. John the Evangelist became a separate ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England in 1846. before then it was part of the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Croydon St. John the Baptist.

Parts of Shirley St. John the Evangelist parish were transferred into the new ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England of Shirley St. George in 1952.

WSFHS CD10 (The Surrey Burial Index) has burial records for Shirley St. John the Evangelist from 1836 to 1866.

WSFHS CD15(Surrey Baptisms Not in the IGI) has baptismal records for Shirley St. John the Evangelist from 1836 to 1876.

West Surrey Family History Society CD10 (The Surrey Burial Index) has burial records for Croydon St. John the Baptist from 1538 to 1852.

West Surrey Family History Society CD12 (Croydon Parish Registers to 1753 and Croydon Monumental Inscriptions to 1882) has Christenings, Marriages and burials for Croydon St. John the Baptist from 1538 to 1753.

West Surrey Family History Society CD15(Surrey Baptisms Not in the IGI) has baptismal records for Croydon St. John the Baptist from 1538 to 1720, 1765 to 1799 and 1859 to 1876.
