The Chapel opened around 1730 (see VCH below) as a congregational chapel in Hart's Lane (now called Mint Street). This is confirmed by the Report of the Commissioners for Inquiring into the state of Registers of Births Deaths and marriages (RCI below).

When the building became too small a new Congregational Church was opened ca 1868 in Bridge Street. The Hart‘s Lane building was then occupied first by a Primitive Methodist church congregation and subsequently by the Salvation Army before being converted into offices in 2012.

There is no evidence of a burial ground.

The Surrey Monumental Inscriptions Index has around 1100 names for St Peter and St Paul Godalming. The inscriptions were collected for WSFHS in 1984 by Alan & Kathleen Benny,

We have also acquired an digital copy of Cokayne, G.E. Surrey parish registers & MI's, Volume IV which includes some Godalming St Peter and Paul MIs. This has not yet been transcribed nor indexed.
