St Mary Magdalene Parish was originally part of Kingston Parish until 1849 see http://www.british-history.ac.uk/vch/surrey/vol3/pp533-546#h3-0004 footnote 240; and was itself divided into Richmond St John (1838), Richmond St Luke (1890), Richmond Christ Church (1894), Richmond St Philip and All Saints (1930) and Richmond Holy Trinity (1970).
