West Surrey Family History Society has just over 200 names for the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Compton St Nicholas in the Surrey Monumental Inscriptions Index. The inscriptions were copied by Sue Dawson for the Society in 1984. They cover the period 1694 to 1940 but there are many gaps.

Compton Cemetery is also in the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Compton St. Nicholas.


West Surrey Family History Society CD10 (The Surrey Burial Index) has burial records for Compton St. Nicholas from 1639 to 1875.

WSFHS CD15(Surrey Baptisms Not in the IGI) has Baptismal records for Compton St. Nicholas from 1788 to 1805.

WSFHS CD30(Ancient Parishes in the Guildford District - Transcriptions and Indexes) has Baptismal, Marriage and Burial records for Compton St. Nicholas for 1587, and from 1639 to 1840.

The church is in the Anglican Diocese of Guildford. The Guildford Diocesan Record Office, where you should find any surviving registers for this parish, is the Surrey History Centre.
