St Anselm's is a Roman Catholic church. The locality was originally served from the RC church of Balham Holy Ghost. It became a separate mission around 1909 and a separate ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England around 1928. The present church was opened in 1933.
