WSFHS has a copy of Alfred Bax's notes for Horne St Mary taken in June 1886 (on a "dull and wet day"). These were transcribed and indexed by volunteers during 2017. There are just over 440 names in the Surrey Monumental Inscriptions Index for Horne.

Horne St Mary the Virgin was originally a chapelry in the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Bletchingley. It became a separate ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England in 1705.

Part of the parish of Horne was moved into the ecclesiastical parishesan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England of Copthorne(Sx) in 1881 and Outwood in 1870.

Horne is part of the Windmill Churches United Beneficean united benefice is a union of two or more Church of England parishes which remain distinct legal entities but share an Incumbant .

WSFHS CD10(The Surrey Burial Index - 2nd edition 2009) has burial records for Horne St Mary the Virgin from 1614 to 1888.

WSFHS CD15(Surrey Baptisms Not in the IGI) has baptismal records for Horne St Mary the Virgin from 1663 to 1694,1701 and 1711 to 1876.

West Surry Family History Society CD10(The Surrey Burial Index - 2nd edition 2009) has burial records for Bletchingley St Mary the Virgin from 1538 to 1866.
