The church was built originally ca. 1867 or 1868. The fund raising efforts seem to have been led by a Josiah Mee from Richmond Hill. The church was closed in 1906 when the Congregation moved to the new church in Station Road.
The building was bought by several members of the congregation and became a Primitive Methodist Church.
The congregation dwindled and church was again redundant from 1966. Subsequently it was bought by Sidney Wiles to become Barnes Healing Church.
