Built around 1908 St. Barthlolomew's church was originally served from the Church of the English Martyrs in Streatham. Around 1920 it became a separate ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England . The church was rebuilt a number of times over the years but was finally consecrated in 1975.

A mass centre was built in Pollard Hill in 1938. It became the ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England of Pollard Hill St. Michael ca. 1982


The church of St. Bartholomew is in the (Anglican) ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England of Streatham, Immanuel and St. Andrew.

There is no graveyard at St Bartholomew's church. Earlier burials may have taken place in the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions church, Streatham St. Leonard.


We know of only three Roman Catholic cemeteries in the London area, St. Mary's in Kensal Green, St. Patrick's in Leytonstone, and St. Mary Magdalene in Mortlake.

West Surrey Family History Society CD24(A 2nd Collection of Surrey Baptisms (not in The IGI) - October 2011) has baptismal records for Streatham St. Leonard from 1769 (Dec) to 1801(Jan)

WSFHS CD39(A 3rd Collection of Surrey baptisms mostly NOT in the IGI) has baptismal records for Streatham St. Leonard from 1873 to 1875
