It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England of Kennington St. Mark was created from part of the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of St. Mary Lambeth in 1825. Part of St Mark's was transferred into the new ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England of Stockwell Green St. Andrew in 1868.
West Surrey Family History Society CD29(A 2nd Collection of Metropolitan Surrey Burials Index) has burial records for Kennington St. Mark from 1838 to 1839 and from 1841 to 1842.
