The congregation originally met in (Old) Woking village from around 1865. The church opened ca. 1875 as Cart Bridge Congregational Chapel or Cartbridge Mission Chapel. The congregational church ceased to operate in the early 1970s and the building became derelict. It was acquired by East Horsely Evangelical Church ca 1974 as a church plant. There does not appear to have been a graveyard; members of the congregation were most likely buried in either St. Mary's or St. Peter's churchyards. There are 1,092 names for Send St. Mary in the Surrey Monumental Inscriptions Index, and an additional 423 names from Woking St. Peter. There is also a civil cemetery in Send village
