of Hersham was part of the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Walton on Thames until 1849. St. Peter's church became the parish church in 1887 and the original church - Holy Trinity - was demolished around 1889.
