The new ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England of Sanderstead St. Mary was created in 1925 from part of the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Sanderstead All Saints and the ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England of Croydon St. Augustine.

The original St. Mary's church was built around 1908 as a Chapel of EaseA daughter church within an ecclesiastical Parish, or a chapel in an outlying area of the parish that is more convenient for parishioners to attend to the parish church of Sanderstead All Saints. The new church was built ca 1925 and the original church is now the church hall.

There is no graveyard at St. Mary's church


West Surrey Family History Society CD10 (The Surrey Burial Index) has burial records for Sanderstead All Saints from 1567 to 1875.

The church is in the Church of England Diocese of Southwark. The Southwark Diocesan Record Office for churches and parishes in the modern administrative county of Surrey, and those London Boroughs that were in Surrey until 1965, is the Surrey History Centre.
