Petersham St. Peter was originally part of the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Kingston. By a 1769 act of Parliament Petersham was separated from Kingston and joined to the Kew. In 1889 it was separated from the ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England of Kew to become an ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church.
