The church of St. Thomas Aquinas was opened ca. 1974 in what was a former school building. Before this church was opened there were a number of mission churches in Ham. The last was a temporary structure built on a small plot in Ham Street. The church was a Chapel of EaseA daughter church within an ecclesiastical Parish, or a chapel in an outlying area of the parish that is more convenient for parishioners to attend for Richmond St. Elizabeth. Ham St Thomas Aquinas became a separate ecclesiastical parishan ecclesiastical parish is an administrative area within the Church of England or Roman Catholic church. It is distinct from the civil parish, a local government unit in England ca 1985. There is no graveyard at St. Thomas Aquinas church.
