Friends of Surrey Cemeteries (Surrey Cemeteries: a survey, 2012):
Opened 1899. Redbrick chapels by R M Chart, wooden white painted porte cochere links chapels. Cemetery office in basement of one chapel. Redundant mortuary at rear of cemetery. 14 acres.

First interment 7 Mar 1900. On 24 Mar 2006 the 30,000th burial. Since March 1995 burials only in family or reclaimed graves (i.e. over 75 years old)

Visited 2011. Very little space, a reasonable mix of average memorials, more recent areas (half cemetery) headstones only, no kerbing. Some safety testing with marked memorials and some laying down. Fencing and hedges around edges, area appeared to be more than 14 acres, surrounded by houses. Wonderful pair of chapels with encaustic tiles in between. Seats in pairs, chained together. “Bus shelter” in newer area. Well kept with wide metalled roads. Old mortuary at southern edge now padlocked. Low mown meadow grassy areas with mature native trees along roads. Many flowers on graves. Many crosses in older sections
