WSFHS has a copy of Robert Hovenden’s “The monumental inscriptions in the old churchyard of St. Mary, Newington” volume 1 1880. Volume 2 was not published. Hovenden’s notes for volume 2 are in Southwark Local History Library with a copy in the Library of the Society of Genealogists. At the time of writing WSFHS volunteers are transcribing volume 1 and we have started to extract the surnames from the notes for volume 2.

WSFHS also has a copy of G.E. Cokayne’s notes for Newington St Mary, Cokayne noted one inscription!
