St. George West End was built around 1875 as a Chapel of EaseA daughter church within an ecclesiastical Parish, or a chapel in an outlying area of the parish that is more convenient for parishioners to attend to the new parish church.

St George Esher was the parish church until around 1865 when it was replaced by Christ Church. The older St George's is now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust and is an Art Centre.

There are around 120 names in the Surrey Monumental Inscriptions Index for Esher Christ Church

WSFHS also holds a copy of a listing of the Graves in St George's produced in 1962. We also have a copy of G.E. Cockayne's survey ca 1897 however, Cockayne is very selective in his listings. Our thanks to Surrey Archaeological Society for allowing us to copy material from their archives
