Christ Church was built around 1854 to replace the former parish church of Esher St. George which was too small for the growing congregation. Parts of the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Esher were exchanged with the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Twickenham in the ancient county of Middlesex in 1970. There is a daughter church St George's, West End in the southern part of the parish. There are around 120 names in the Surrey Monumental Inscriptions Index for Esher Christ Church WSFHS also holds a copy of a listing of the Graves in St George's produced in 1962. We also have a copy of G.E. Cockayne's survey ca 1897 however, Cockayne is very selective in his listings.
